Tómas Þorvaldsson attorney, will act as legal advisor for The Equator Memorial Project.
Tómas Thorvaldsson became one of the partners of VÍK Lögmannsstofa (Vik Law) in February 2011. From 1987 he was one of the partners of LVA Legal Services. He has specialised in intellectual property rights and corporate law and has spent most of his carreer on advise and negotiating contracts in these areas of the law. His main areas of practice are intellectual property law (copyright, patents, trademarks, design rights), licensing, entertainment, software, IT, corporate, start-ups, development of IP structures, IP protection and marketing strategies and IP litigation.
Tómas has mainly been engaged with the following services: advise to film and television production companies, drafting and negotiating relevant agreements, such as director‘s, scriptwriter‘s, composer‘s agreements, co-production agreements, financing agreements, distribution agreements, forming of companies and joint ventures, grant applications and rebate programs. Advise and agreements in the music industry, pre-dominantly with foreign companies, record agreements, publishing agreements, management agreements, agency agreements, merchandising agreements, forming of companies etc. Advise and agreements on software programming and distribution, computer games, multi-media, pharmaceutical agreements, theatre and book publishing. Advise to entrepreneurs and start-ups, including formation of companies, acquisition and exploitation of intellectual property rights.
